HO / Now for something not totally different
June 16, 2013, 02:41:04 PM
I have noticed a slow down in new announcements for new HO product from not only Bachmann but most of the other suppliers on HO scale equipment. I know the Atlanta NMRA convention is coming up soon and we may see some new announcements, but I wonder how much the poor economy has effected new product development

Maybe it is time to revisit some of the old favorites in new road names and road numbers. I would like to see a reissue of the GE 70 Tonners in road names like Rutland , original Norfolk Southern , Washington & Old Dominion, Live Oak Perry and Gulf, Meadow River Lumber Company just to name a few.  I am sure others can add to this list.

Bachmann did do a special run of Baltimore and Annapolis GE 70 tonner #50 so why not other short line and small class 1;s who owned them. Maybe follow up with a run of ALCO RS-3's in short line paint? Ideas any one?

Do the On30 guys need a meeting room at the National Narrow Gauge Convention Sept 7-10-2011 in Hickory NC?  Contact Johnny Graybeal.

The guys doing this convention still have space available for modular railroads. The hall is huge.

HO / Re: new locomotive suggestion

I have always thought that the PRR H-3 class 2-8-0 as built by Baldwin would make a good selling model. Ma & Pa 23-26 and a series of small 2-8-0's on the Southern and WM look all alike. I am sure other roads had these 1890's built locomotives. There is a proto-type in the collection at Strasburg PA.

Then let me be the first to invite your group to set up at the national narrow Gauge Convention in Sept 2011 at the Hickory Convention center.

On30 / Re: New 4-6-0 Picture

I checked the Great Planes (Tower Hobbies) web-site yesterday and they are now saying it will be June 09 before the 4-6-0's are released. They are almost always correct on release dates and up-date the web-site daily.

Has something happened to delay the release of these locomotives that has pushed the date back to June?

The picture at the start of this thread was taken by Johnny Graybeal at the National Narrow Gauge Convention in Portland OR. This past Sept where Bachmann had the 4-6-0 on display.

Noticed that a run of new road numbers for the shay , 4-4-0, 4-6-0 and 2-8-0 have appeared in the new catalog with DCC/ Sound installed. Good stuff.

Have not found it posted here yet, did I miss it?

HO / Rio Grande 4-8-2
July 30, 2007, 07:50:06 PM
I would have thought that with the arrival of the Blackstone HOn3 K-27's that Bachmann would have released the HO USRA Heavy 4-8-2 in Rio Grande to cover the other half of that dual gauge yard. However they release an N scale version.  Are the Rio Grande 4-8-2's that different that the Bachmann model wouldn't make a good stand in model?

How about it mister Bachmann?

While this announcement is not for an On30 ten wheeler I thought I would let you all know that Train and Trooper of Maine two footer fame is going to import HOn3 ET&WNC ten wheelers in Brass. They will come factory painted for four different era's. If you are interested check out their website.
