Anywho, I'm having fun, and designing the Shaleford logo was a bit of extra fun as well!
The curves are 26" and 22", tables are 5'x8' with a total of 4. Layout done with Anyrail.

Bal

Looks like a great uncomplicated design with a running loop so you can watch them go round and round when you don't want operations

WE usually run 20 to 25 cars, and this train would normally be two trains with the second half having a few more cars.  The lengths are limited by the smallest of his four passing tracks.  He also has the complete 13 car California Zephyr.

This is his coal unit train;

You can see some his other vids of plowing real snow and the Zephyr from the dome car.
Very nice and great videos
Excellent Weathering

Zowie

Waiting for A Train didn't list the original by Jimmie Rodgers

Freight Train Blues was also done by Elton Brit and is the theme on my Web Site ( Click on my sig )

Hank Williams also had California Zephyr ( same tune as his Pan American ) where he mistakenly says it was pulled by the Union Pacific

Ben Dewberry's Final Ride was Final Run and by Jimmie Rodgers

General Discussion / Re: DCC advice
March 10, 2012, 06:41:56 PM
I have a simple 2 track oval
I wanted sound so I buy DCC/sound
Even though you get the sound on DC
I forked out the extra $$ for a DCC Controller NCE since it was a one time deal and the trains run better in DCC and you have control over the Whistle/Horn and bell etc

I did my Bachmann 2-8-4 undecorated decaled for my Freelanced RR
Yep they had their motor wires mislabeled
Got it working OK

At lest the tender had a speaker ready location

I think since it cost about $100 for decoder and speaker to do other trains it is worth the extra $70--$80 to buy a new DCC/Sound if available and keep the original as a spare shell/engine or in a display

Hassle isn't worth it to me especially in trying to find room for the decpder and speaker on models that don't have the space already there
