Duke:

Most on this forum may not be aware that there were over 25 different narrow gauge locos if the RWS books are included. Besides the models shown in the collection photo above here are some of the additional narrow gauge locos that I do not intend to model:

Stuart (Peter Sam)
Falcon (Sir Handel)
Bertram (Duke)
Victor (Two Versions)
Zack 0-4-0 Diesel
Rachel 0-4-0 Diesel
Marilyn 2-6-2T (Similar to Freddie)
Chang 2-8-2T (Similar to Freddie)
Stanley  0-4-0T
Ivo Hugh 0-4-2T
Helen 0-6-0T

There might be one or two that I missed for a total of around 25 total narrow gauge locos. Once Sir Handel and Proteus are built I will be satisfied with the dozen or so models that I have finished to complete my narrow gauge collection. I hope you have enjoyed seeing my progress in building all of these models which goes all the way back to page 3 of this thread. And a very big thank you to Chaz for inspiring me with your model of Duke who has always been my favorite Thomas locomotive.

Grandpuff

I only mentioned Bertram and Victor because they are the only two left that have appeared in the TV-series.
I know Peter Sam-Stuart and Sir Handel-Falcon are the same characters, and that there are more NG engines in the RWS that aren't in the TV-series. I'm only interessted basicly in the TV-show model characters anyway.

Hello Again:

I received my Rusty from TW this past Monday and I think it is a great model. It looks fantastic and runs very smoothly. I love the rivet detail and I really do not mind the closed cab considering its small size. I personally think that Rusty does a good job portraying Midlander which after all was a very small loco compared to Skarloey and Rheneas. Here is an updated photo of my Narrow Gauge collection including Rusty.

Shown left to right are Rusty, Freddie, Millie, Luke, empty stall for Sir Handel, Peter Sam, Smudger next to shed, Mighty Mac, Duke, Skarloey, Rheneas, and Duncan. Skarloey and Rheneas are by Bachmann. The rest of my models were built by myself.

I need to figure out how to build Sir Handel next and then Proteus to complete my collection.

Enjoy,
Grandpuff

Great work!
But don't you need Bertram and Victor too to complete the collection?

I could have given you the dimensions in inches thou, but that may be a little bit to large for this small model.
The lenght from coupler to coupler is 8,7 cm. The height is 3,4 cm, and the width is on the widest 2,5cm and 2,2cm on the top if his cab.
I wasn't sure if you actually meant that you needed the lenght of the model thou, but I measured it just in case.

I have a Bachmann and a ERTL model of Skarloey and the Bachmann model is a little bit smaller. I don't have a ERTL model of Rheneas thou, so I can't compare those two ERTL models to each other. I can give you the dimensions of the Bachmann Skarloey model, but I use the metric system so can only give it to you in mm or cm

Thomas & Friends / Re: Thomas Stock Status?

I have watched the online store atleast once a week almost since new year and what I have been wondering about is how long bouth Thomas and Percy has been out of stock. There has been some of other engines that has been marked "Sold Out" that they have got back in stock in no more than a month, but Thomas and Percy has been marked as "Sold Out" now since atleast around january sometime. AND if you take a look in the online store today you will see 3 engines marked "Sold Out"... Thomas, Percy and James, the 3 first engines that desperately needed an update compare to the newest engines + the last of those 3 has been rumored about an update for a while now. so maybe the two others also??

Just a theory.. ::)

Bachmann Oliver and Mavis are pretty much the same size.

Now that I think about it, I don't think it's that Oliver's undersized. If anything, Duck could be oversized. Considering how long he is. He's bigger than Diesel.

Are they sort of the same size in length, height or both?

What a cool layout you have. Looks really big with a lot of diffrent tracks to choose. And the playmobil-figures fits very well too.

A little sad that they only makes the Spiteful Brake Van in large scale and not HO as well, but otherwise nothing to complain about.

If you use tinypic you can just copy the link under "IMG Code for Forums & Message Boards"

or with photobucket just copy the link under "Direct" and put your link between the two img's

It's very cool how perfect the Ertl face fits to the model. It's exactly as it was supposed to be there from the beginning.
Would have loved to made a Duke model myself..., but unfortunately I'm a perfectionist without any sort of modeling skills and no patience what so ever, so sadly I don't think the result would be any good at all.

Another character that desperately needs to return is Duke. He never appeared after Season 4, because they used his model to make Bertram, a very pointless character.

Would be nice to see Sir Handel and Peter Sam calling him "Granpuff" again. Would bring back memories. And, the narrator stating the fact that Sir Handel and Peter Sam were formerly Falcon and Stuart. Maybe even a recreated CGI flashback of Mid-Sodor moments.
What!!!
Is that the whole reason why we haven't seen him since season 4. Because of a microscopic character that was on screen for a couple of seconds never to be seen again. Ridiculous   :'(
I wish bouth he and BoCo could come back. Two off my alltime favorites

When I see him next to Duck I wonder, is it just the picture or does it looks like he is looking upwards?
Have no problems with how he looks thou, but I would like if his running board would have been white/gray to lighten him up a bit. Looks very dark next to Duck, but still fantastic.

I think he looks great, and I bet he will look even better in our hands, but it looks like he's misses some details on his side. http://i66.tinypic.com/10fbc7o.jpg
Still looking great thou

If they did do Daisy (and I really hope so), they most likely would give her gray windows like all the other diesel engines.
