General Discussion / Re: Show us your layout
March 19, 2013, 02:11:24 PM
Looks good Jerry! As I am building my 4 x 8 I keep wishing I had more room to do what I want to do with it. Although it is very stressful at times to me since this is WAY out of my comfort zone I must say I am sooo enjoying it. Rather than watching tv I  cant wait for the kids to get to sleep so I can work on the layout....
If anyone is interested I am doing videos on how to build a layout, you can see my layout on youtube.
I will try and post pictures this weekend.

I have been looking for chalk to weather my buildings as well. Where do you buy them? I have been looking all over ebay and cant seem to find any weathering powder. Maybe I am not searching for the right thing?

Yeah I was going to seal it with a board after I paint the bed and before I add the water, then I was going to remove it.

Thanks for the tips and taking the time to tell me what your thoughts are.
How do you make the ballest look right around your switches and crossovers?

I am thinking about Ballasting my Ez-Track. I know it is an art so I am worried that I will mess it up and it will look bad. I am just wondering what others think. Also I want to kind of make it weathered/Oil would you re comend mix different ballest colors together to get that look so you don't have to paint? Just looking for some suggestions...

I updated some of my layout over the weekend. I added the styrofoam base, carved out a river and put in two bridges if anyone is interested in checking it out. I only have videos of my progress not pictures. the last video I posted last night shows the river and how I did.

General Discussion / Bachmann Repairs Ez-Command
March 07, 2013, 02:07:55 PM
I must say it was a little disappointing to find out when I called Bachmann about my Ez-Command Controller that was broke and sent in to have it replaced because they don't repair them that they told me it would be 4 weeks. Now my problem is this is not a repair it is a replace. Why would it take 4 weeks to get back on a replace? Just a little disappointed I guess that we have to wait to be able to control each individual train....
Has anyone else had this problem? They could not even tell me if they had it, but it has been at Bachmann for over a week now...
