I stumbled upon this article and I was left in a state of bewilderment...  ???

http://www.tauntongazette.com/news/business_news/x530602459/Police-investigate-theft-of-railroad-tracks-in-Taunton-today-train-derailed

and I find yet another instance...

http://www.wtsp.com/news/topstories/article/195270/250/Two-arrested-for-trying-to-steal-railroad-track-parts

I would say I'm amazed, however, this is just pathetic.

Thanks for the reassurance. I await the PDF version of your newest catalog, as does my 4 year old son.

I agree. Hopefully they will bring some back. That DDA40X was only released last year. :o

I have Linux Ubuntu on my computer and run the atlas software using Wine, which is a Microsoft software compatibility layer. Do they have software like that for the Mac?

Yes, it's called CrossOver. I have used the Atlas software myself and it works okay. Although a native software version would be nice.

Try this software to get your layout planned.

Ah, is there a Mac-based version or equivalent?

What software are you currently using? I know there are some titles like RailModeller.

I use ModelTrainStuff.com. They are quick, their prices are amazing and they have great service.

HO / Re: Problem with Royal Gorge coach
January 05, 2010, 09:50:03 PM
I, too, have the Royal Gorge set and have notice on occasion that the second coach separates from the dome coach. I also noticed that the two coaches have different couplers (the regular car has an E-Z Mate Mark 2-with springs and the dome car has the regular E-Z mate coupler without the springs).

This problem also occurs on the McKinley Explorer set. I noticed that the track must be perfectly flat or what was described (the couplers shifting up and down) happens. I was simply planning on replacing the couplers with the Kadee couplers.

I would tend to lean to a larger scale like O or G, especially with younger children. I have an HO under my tree, but I have an artificial tree and no carpet to get in the way.
