It's Marnold, not Menards. 

The Marnold "Marn-O-Stat" was the preffered throttle in the olden days when the earth was cooling. (Before the 1970's)  It was a basically a big, honkin' curved variable resistor with a pivoting slider with a handle on it that required a fixed 12v DC supply.   It was also incorporated into a standalone DC power pack offered by Marnold.

Only the Pennsy, NYC (later some went to the Monogohela, then D&H), B&O and EJ&E had Sharks.  CNJ did have some Baldwin "Baby Face" units, predecessors to the Sharks.  Perhaps that's what you saw on the video.

Sorry to disappoint, John.  There was only one On30 layout there that I saw at the NTS, and it was a small one (about 4 x 4 or smaller.)  Basically an oval running around a small farm building.  Pretty well done for the most part.

No On30 layout at the Bachmann display, just the Porters.

Actually, Sumpter Valley 19 would be a good candidate for On30.

Hello all.

The new 2-6-6-2's, sound 4-6-0's and Sandy River style cabeese are up and available for preorder on Micro-Mark's website.

Well, I feel a little better now that I've seen some pictures of the new 4-4-0.  It is certainly an odd little critter and appears to be more of a hybrid of Mt. Gretna and the Brazillian. 

What concerns me more is that it will may difficult to impossible to elegantly bring the couplers up to On3 height, which is what I'm using for a standard for my On30 stuff.
