Does a Bachmann Spectrum 2-8-0 use more voltage with the decoder installed for forward motion, then without the decoder installed? Thanks Wally

HO / Re: DCC Back To DC

I am using a MRC prodigy express system. I changed the decoder address from 3 to the first 2 cab numbers on my spectrum 2-8-0 and 4-4-0. When I tried to run them again on DC they would not start. Thanks Wally

When you run a Bachmann DCC equipped engine on a DCC equipped track, do you need to reprogram the engine to run on DC again? Thanks Wally

HO / Re: Bachmann DCC Using DC

Will the Bachmann DCC Command unit work as well as a MRC prodigy express  system for a small layout? I will run only the Bachmann 4-4-0 and 2-8-0 on the layout. Wally

HO / Bachmann DCC Using DC
April 08, 2010, 01:17:20 PM
Will the Bachmann HO engines with DCC run just as well running in DC? I am thinking of buying DCC engines and running them using DC and a MRC synchro sound unit for sound, untill the budget allows for a DCC unit and sound equiped engines. Thanks Wally

Will the Bachmann HO engines with DCC installed run with a dc transformer?

Will the MRC Synchro Sound black box with the speaker work with the Bachmann DCC Comand control unit. I know the mrc unit has at least 2 wires that go to the acc. terminals on a regular transformer . I do not know if the Bachman DCC unit has terminals like that. Thanks for the help.

Will a 4-4-0 handle a 15 inch radius curve? Is there any steam engine that will handle that small a radius?

N / Narrow Shelf Layout
March 18, 2010, 11:50:27 AM
I need some advice as to any diesel or steam engine that will handle 9 inch radius curves. I would like to build a shelf type layout 11 feet long but as narrow as possible. Would 11 inch radius make a great difference? Any listing would be a great help. Thanks Wally
