On30 / noisy motor and or gears
March 06, 2011, 06:40:38 AM
Good morning all, I just received my new motor for my closed streetcar and the noise is, well, noisy like you wouldn't believe. I'm sure it is not the motor but the gears trying to mesh. I've had this b 4 and it finally did quiet down especially in my 4 4 0 but this is terrible. Any hints on what to do to quiet it. All my other streetcars are very quiet, I mean really very quiet. Thanks

On30 / Re: bachmann #44547reversing track

Thanks so much for responding Hamish. I think I'll give it a try because the style of the barn doesn't go with the rest of my village buildings. This way I'll have the  track only. Thanks again.

On30 / bachmann #44547reversing track

Hello to all, Just curious. Will any trolley or engine work on this model reversing track or does it have to be one that is dcc and not just dc. This is a set of track, not the set with the trolley and barn. Thanks and happy railroading

I agree. My 4 4 0 is also noisy but it runs great. Not real sure how to lube the gears or what I should use to do so. I'm also having trouble with the little bar that connects from the engine to the tender to stay in place and the tender and cars end up being pulled around with the plugs from the tender to the engine. I think that may be too much stress on the plugs.

On30 / motor for ancient village streetcar from dept 56
October 11, 2010, 07:25:17 PM
I have as the bachmann parts dept put it an ancient village streetcar made for dept 56 probably at least 15 years ago and the motor went blooey. I sent it in but nothing can be done with it and  the new motor that I purchased will not fit, way to small. Anybody know where I can get another motor new or used? Thanks

General Discussion / new motor for village streetcar
September 23, 2010, 03:49:46 PM
Hi There, Just ordered a new motor for my village streetcar which was a bump and go so to speak. Now will the new motor just replace the old one so at least the streetcar will go round and round? Any pointers would be greatly appreciated. Thanks
