N / Re: Digitrak DCC system

:)I have 2 Digitrax Zephyr systems ( i bought both from Ebay and one guy was jerking me around on shipping me his " end of the bargain " so I canvcelled his, ask for money back and bought another and he ships anyway) long story short, once you read and understand the "technical manuals" that come with the sets, these are straightforward, very user intuitive and user friendly systems. they have three types of programming modes, and can handle up to ten addresses (locomotives) running at a time. And the jump ports can use any non-pulsed dc controllers as throttles.  I agree that shopping around and try before you buy with a club or a friends system ( some hobby shops have systems you can try out) will make you the most satisfied with your decision on what system is best for you but don't knock the digitrax system or their decoders till you try one

N / Painitng Engineering Plastic railing
January 12, 2011, 10:43:46 PM
:'( Does anyone have a good way to get paint to stick to these delrin railings on bachman locomotives ? The super flexibility is great when Grandson wants to grab PawPaws choo choo but paint jus' ain't a gonna stick to them. I'm relatively new to the super detailing and painting of N Scale models and read somewhere of a concotion of stuff and battery acid to "etch" the railing ( I would probably end up etching the fire out of me first). Any help here would be greatly appreciated.

You're right and I feel slightly dumb right now. I look hard alright, just not at the paperwork that came with the locomotive. Oh well. Live and learn ::)

N / Bachman Spectrum SD45 and Bachman B23-7

Desperately Seeking Help:

I have an N Scale SD45 that has the removeable clips on the board and a B23-7 with the same type of clips on the PC Board. I am looking for any resource as to    " how to install " DCC decoders in these locomotives.  I am having a hard time finding any resource on the internet or even Kalmbach publishing. Any help would be greatly appreciated
