Ted mentioned road numbers.  When I did that back a while I  caught blazes.

Still think it's good idea.   Heck,  I bought 3 accucrafts (with differnt numbers)  but just ! Bachman!!

Rose:

I don't check these message boards often, but your note caught my eye.

If you have not resolved the transformer (power pak) problem, I would be happy to send you one, with the necessary track connector and wire.

Send an email, off this forum, to jbram@yahoo.com with the info I need to send it.

;D I'd sure like to see Bachmann re-tool that knuckle coupler! :o

They did.  ;D On the new cars, it seems they deepened the pocket.

Try to manually couple an older 1:22 talgo coupler with the new 1:20 coupler.

The old one will fail to latch.

Good downward compatability, and more expensive, and smaller road # selection than the other 1:20 scale car supplier.

Thanks Glenn.

Watch for smoke when you diagnose the next problem you have no fnn clue on.

Large / Rail Truck RealiZm

Product quality 104. :o ::) ;D

I set set my new rail truck (82396) out on the track for it's second run and I was amazed at the realistic cloud of smoke that emanated from the truck as I applied power.  The truck continued to run and the smoke dissapated. After a few turns around the layout I parked that truck and tried the RGS truck.  OOOps,  Bummer,   ???  no smoke.  That sort gave me clue. The first truck had a problem.  Yup.  Something shorted,  red wire from RR wheel to board, and yellow to RF melted insulation.  Woderbar, bare wire city.

Then I looked at the PC board in the Back of the truck.  Gee Wizzz.  Got enough diodes, resistors, transistors and capasitors to run an energy plant.
The truck might need at most 3 resitors, 1 capacitor, for the lights.

What the heck are all these parts in there for.  No wiring diagram to show how they are used,   or not.  DCC??? for what??    DC or RC  I believe is major focus in 1:20.  Or are we using all that stuff when the switch is set to NMRA.

Bmann,  Can I get a schematic??  Or should I just toss the board and rewire??

Hi:

I think most large scale smoke is created by heating propylene glycol, not oil.

This stuff is used every where,  food, cosmetics and medicinal products.

Look it up,  it is interesting trivia.

Great responses.  Glad to stir  the pot a bit and get a little thinking going.

The answer I was hoping would pop up  :o :o was to give us a Lettered -- un-numbered car with a rub on sheet,  of some,  ;)  if not all, the correct numbers for a given car and RR.  :)

Hope I didn't use to many faces  ::)

And  Jerry,  you are correct on my referencing the 1:20 cars.

I did have a weak moment when I saw On30 Tea kettle Shay, so I have one.
Looks cute next to a the Fn3 geared engines

 Car Numbers

Ok:  We finally have some cars that were promised long ago in a faraway realm, they are nice, good detail, good coupler, ?? paint on FCC Box, little pricey.
But ___ ARE WE TO GET ONLY ONE ROAD NUMBER ??
AMS WAS SMART ENOUGH --  they provide lots of numbers on their offering.
I would like more than one, but I would like different numbers on them.
I know better to suggest things to BMANN Inc.  But??

At the risk of goofing this up. I'll try to attach a picture of the original Caboose. from the contest of years ago.  It's a 55k jpeg, which should fit, if the download area for this site is not overloaded.  It was a while ago.

Great looking Cab,  :o
Not a bit like the Pacific Coast proposal back a few years ago in contest days.  Would still like to see that one come to production.  ;D
