So shim the thinner one with a bit of cereal box card stock. Not everything has to line up within a thousandth of an inch.

Model railroading is not difficult.

Look at Midwest's cork roadbed.

Im thinking I could possibly scratch-bash a duplex style engine together. Might be as fun as my cab forward.

Always a pleasure and an inspiration looking at your photos, Ken. Keep it up.

To the OP. A picture is worth a thousand words I learned many years ago. Solves issues faster.

Please sign your name. It is appropriate.

Rich

Don't worry about your name. If you are not comfortable using your name then don't.

Rich.....please quit making up rules of conduct. If you wanna use your name, go ahead. Nothing here says it is "appropriate" .

One wire at time between your front teeth......bite down a bit and pull.....or burn the ends back with a lighter.

Figured so. Uptick in the area ia not surprising.

Rich

An uptick? You guys are setting record numbers, and you call it an uptick? Incredible. It's actually quite fascinating to watch from this side of the border.

Start running short 2 and even 4 axle equipment over #6 or #8 turnouts, and you will quickly discover why powered frogs are important.

All the turnouts on my layout are powered frog, and switch polarity using the extra contacts on the toggle switch that controls them.

It was a lot of work but well worth the effort.

HO / Re: LED front light of 2-6-0 Alco seems defective

I'm also finding a D&RGW 2-6-0 in On30 as a replacement shell in the bumblebee scheme.

The headlamp on the On30 2-6-0 is not an LED, just a regular 12v GOW bulb.

Is the fact this thing runs on HO gauge track perhaps the thing that is confusing you?

HO / Re: New Bachmann stock will not stay coupled
October 12, 2020, 11:09:02 AM
I can't knock the Bachmann couplers. Most of my 10 plus year old Bachmann engines are still using the EZ Mates they came with. A few have stretched out and have been replaced.

Sometimes I replace with KaDees but I also keep a stock of EZ mates on hand too.

Not sure why you are experiencing such grief. Have you called service?

The stuff uses Lithium grease as a carrier, so, no......I wouldn't use it on my layout.

Maybe this video is photoshopped.  I would find this event unimaginable on a railroad with a design engineering department, digital car type tracking, and such.

Nope, nope, nope.......not photo-shopped. It's as real as it gets.
