Bachmann needs to start offering the Williams line with the bluetooth boards  ;)

BobD.

I agree 100%, Bob. I think they would be very strong sellers. I certainly would buy them.

Yes indeed Joe.  I'm having a blast running my WbB E7 with plans to install the BlueRail board in one of the new-ish WbB semi-scale 4-6-2 soon IF there's room in the tender for the battery.  I'll be checking that soon.

I think this bluetooth thing may open the door for folks of all ages to get excited about trains.  I know it has for this young train buff (I'll be 65 this month  ;D!).

BobD.

Happy Birthday Bob! I'm a little older than you (67 in January) and I know what you mean. I have 3 Lionel LionChief Plus locos (very similar to bluetooth) and love them. I'm hoping WBB will offer locos with bluetooth already installed very soon. It's so much more fun than running trains conventionally.

Was the install of the BlueRail board difficult? I'm not that good with electronics and a little wary of trying an installation myself.

Congrats on the sweet looking new locomotives.

Looks great Wyatt.

I use 1/43 scale vehicles and O gauge people by Woodland Scenics and Bachmann SceneScapes. I have a 1/43 scale box truck and it looks too big to me. I will use 1/50 scale trucks and busses in the future.

Thanks for the excerpt from MR. Remember that Lionel had the whistle in most steam engines and I think they already had the diesel horn in the F3. Lionel also had a record with train sounds that could be played while running trains. American Flyer had the chuff sound but I don't know when they developed it. None of these were anything like the digital sounds we have today but they were a start.

I agree with Trainman203, running trains without sound is dull and lifeless.

I disagree James, IMHO sound in HO and N is quite good, and way better than silence.

Bill, even though the B unit is a dummy it's still called a locomotive.

All Bachmann trains are manufactured in China. I don't know if their factory is in Hong Kong but it's definitely in China.

Hope this helps to clear things up for you.

Hi Bill, I don't know if a B unit is available from WBB but I'm answering so you know we are seeing this. I assume someone will know if a B unit was ever made by WBB.

Williams by Bachmann / EZ App for WBB?
November 06, 2015, 06:41:40 PM
I think the EZ App is a great idea. Will it be coming to Williams by Bachmann? If so, any idea when it will be available? One last question, if it does come to O gauge will it be possible to adapt older WBB locos to EZ App?

Thanks.

Nice layouts, Stationmaster. I'm also between layouts right now. I'm just starting on a new O gauge layout so I don't have any pictures.

I agree with Albert, go with a 30"x80" hollow core door if you can. It's not that much bigger but the extra room real adds a lot. Curves can be bigger and there are lots of track plans available. If you don't have room for 30"x80" how about 30"x60" rather than 24"x48"?
