Bill, even though the B unit is a dummy it's still called a locomotive.

All Bachmann trains are manufactured in China. I don't know if their factory is in Hong Kong but it's definitely in China.

Hope this helps to clear things up for you.

Hi Bill, I don't know if a B unit is available from WBB but I'm answering so you know we are seeing this. I assume someone will know if a B unit was ever made by WBB.

Thanks Yardmaster. I think it will be a huge success.
19  Discussion Boards / Williams by Bachmann / EZ App for WBB? on: November 06, 2015, 07:41:40 PM
I think the EZ App is a great idea. Will it be coming to Williams by Bachmann? If so, any idea when it will be available? One last question, if it does come to O gauge will it be possible to adapt older WBB locos to EZ App?

Thanks.

You have some very nice locomotives, plus a really cool layout in progress.

The NW2 looks fabulous. Excellent work.

Nice layouts, Stationmaster. I'm also between layouts right now. I'm just starting on a new O gauge layout so I don't have any pictures.

I agree with Albert, go with a 30"x80" hollow core door if you can. It's not that much bigger but the extra room real adds a lot. Curves can be bigger and there are lots of track plans available. If you don't have room for 30"x80" how about 30"x60" rather than 24"x48"?

It looks like a fabulous layout. $200 seems like a bargain. You can easily adapt it to DCC. Just set all the block switches to the same power pack and connect your DCC system there. You can even leave the other blocks DC so you can run locos that don't yet have decoders.

I'm interested in the Boston & Albany because it has white lettering. All I would have to do is to remove the road name and add my white Alma & Jupiter Bay Railway decals, easy peasy. With gold or any other color lettering I have to remove it all. Gold lettering isn't a deal breaker but it's not as easy.
26  Discussion Boards / N / Berkshire Question on: July 27, 2014, 11:00:19 AM
I am very excited about the Berkshire but disappointed that there is no painted unlettered or Boston and Albany version. Might we see these next year?

I have noticed that you have not done painted unlettered versions of locos lately. Do these not sell well? I like them since I model a custom road and add my own decals. I use white lettering so I have to remove all the gold lettering to customize the loco.

Thanks

Joe

OK, I can wait a few more days.

We have been very patiently waiting for this announcement. Any news?

Obviously, PRR E6 and K4

Not so obvious to me. I have no interest in either. Whatever they produce, some of us will be happy and some of us won't.

The K4 is a PRR loco. I don't know if Bachmann would sell enough of them to make it worth their while. They did produce a K4 in HO, but the HO market is about 3 times the size of the N scale market. I'd love to see some NYC steam engines but I think generic locos that could be lettered for a number of roads make more sense in our scale. Unfortunately, there's just not enough of us. I don't think we will ever see the road specific steamers like HO has. Of course, I hope I'm wrong.

Thanks for that link Rich. I wonder why the tenders are lettered for certain roads. I would think they would sell a lot better if they were painted but unlettered. For me to use any of them I have to strip the lettering. I'm sure there are many like me who don't model those roads.
