     It is HO scale, EMD SD9.  All the instructions say is to lower the shell onto the chassis until the grooves (two on each side) line up with the fuel tank.

     By the way, it is DCC ready, and I have not put a decoder in it yet.

     I just recently received my first Proto 2000 diesel loco.  I was wondering why I can not get the shell on it.  It almost seems as if something is blocking it.  Any suggestions?

By now, I'm convinced that Bachmann will release the EZ-Track book when CSX and Norfolk Southern announce merger plans Wink.

I don't want to be rude, but that is the last thing in the world I would like to see. Angry    However, the idea did give me a laugh. Cheesy   My favorite railroad was absorbed by the N&W, which I also liked a little.  I never have liked the NS, even after I learned that it was the result of the N&W and SOU merge.  If it ever merges with the CSX, I will pray that it is actually a CSX takeover.

     I have a similar problem.  When running two DCC locos at the same time, one will continue moving after I close the throttle.  I slow the speed slowly then, off completely, and sometimes it will maintain the last slow speed for about a second to a sencond-and-half, but no more than two seconds.  However, it only does it when both locos are going foward or reverse.  When one is forward and the other is reverse, the one that acts up will sometimes try to change directions and then back again.  But it only does this when it is under the control and the speed knob is around the same slow speed.  Other than that, I have no problems at all.

     I would love to, but I live in Indiana.  Not ever having a layout gives me an even more desire to come and help you.  Like Gene said, it would also be a rather large commute for me.  So all I can say is "Have fun." Wink

     If I were building a 4-track main, I would use the 26" and 28" to form one double and the 33.25" and 35.5" for the other.  If space would not allow that, I'd substitute the larger double with the 26" and 28", providing that on the outer double use 2.25" or 3" straights to allow longer travel so your tracks won't cross.  However, to look more real, use flex track.

     Since we're talking about curve radii, I've always thought that Bachmann needs to make 20" and 24" also.  This way, with equal spacing, you can range from 18" to 24" for a 4-track main, or a larger range from 22" to 28". Grin

     There is nothing extra you need to do but "open it and enjoy."  Bachmann makes its DCC able to be run on regular DC, if that is what you have.  Otherwise, enjoy!!!

     The frogs have to be metal, then they would be powered.  Then you'd have to deal with isolating the tracks, which gets even more complicated.  Even with the isolated tracks, you have to make sure the power current is right, else you might see some undesirable smoke.

I run HO scale, and some of my turnouts' frogs collect unwanted gunk from the wheels, causing some steamers not to grip the frog properly.
