I'm also curious about it, as I use a Windows Phone and would like to know the state of the EZ App for Windows.

The last "new in box" item I got was a passenger car with after-market couplers, custom decals, and a scruffed roof.

I can tell when looking at something in it's box, if it has been modified (this is where having done your research helps you).  If I can't see or tell, I ask (see above point).  I don't get my answer, I move on.  Wiz could you not tell from the pics there had been mods done?  Did you ask any questions before buying/bidding?

It was a pretty cheap car, and I simply read the "new" condition that it was listed as. I didn't think a "new" car could be so... used.

I'd be happy with brighter light bulbs, personally.

HO / Re: Acela dcc ready set

I have the DCC-ready set, and I put a decoder in mine. It's not for the feint of heart, for sure! First off, the top is difficult to get off. There's little black do-hicky-roof decorations that aren't glued in that tend to fall out, and to top it all off, the space for the decoder is very cramped. I would get an N-scale decoder, so you aren't stuck trying to get a "normal" HO size decoder to fit. Also, forget about DCC + sound, there's flat out no space unless you start milling away at the weight.

But I will say, once you get it set up, it runs quite nicely.

I have an F7 diesel from 1993, give or take, that is on my workbench to convert to DCC.

My guess is that one of the LED wires is wired up to or otherwise making contact with the motor. The more power the motor gets, the brighter the LED is, but only if the LED is getting power from the function wire, too.

Best not to make judgments until the actual product is released....
I think you've mistook the Internet for a place where reason and logic exist  ;D

I don't believe that Acela cars have screws to keep them together. Just some plastic nubs that you need to squeeze in. The set I have uses 2 grain of wheat bulbs mounted between foil in the roof.
