you may have to wait a little while for the ez app. blue rail trains is making the Bluetooth decoders, but I don't think they are yet small enough to fit in Thomas or percy. when I converted Thomas to dcc I used a z scale decoder.

Yes I know I will have to wait a little while. It will take me a long time to get enough track and trains for a serious layout anyway.

Thanks Alex. I think another source of Thomas not working is because he has run at my club layout twice for at least two hours each. What probably makes it worse is that I don't have any cleaning supplies for my trains. Oh yeah, Jacob Wilson, my model is HO.

Thomas & Friends / Changing to Knuckle Couplers Question
November 24, 2015, 11:43:29 PM
Hello everyone. I have decided plans for a layout that I want to make for the future. I am planning on using ez app because you can have DC track power with it, unlike DCC, and I am planning on changing the couplers on my thomas stock to knuckle couplers. I am thinking about, for Thomas at least, getting a NEM coupler set and gluing it on the running board where the hook and loop would go. Do you think this will work, also, what should I do for other engines? Do you think this way for Thomas would work without derailing American body mounted rolling stock on curves?

The same as the Thomas range.

What sort of damage has been done to your Thomas and James Locomotives, if you do not mind me asking?

Well, this is my second Thomas because my old one stopped working. This one also did the same thing, but over a longer period of time. James got one of his pick- ups (the things that touh the wheels) damaged after an accident of putting in the spring to his little wheel on the front. The pick-up, which I thought had been put in correctly, got scrunched up in the plate that holds the wheels in. When I noticed and pulled the plate off, the pick-up was in terrible shape. When I tried to straighten it out, it came out.

Hello everyone. I have a question about sending my Thomas and James engines into Bachmann. I am wondering, do I need to contact them beforehand. Also, would it be possible to try to get a snowplow for thomas if I send in extra money along with the question for one? Will they fix locomotives if they have been damaged by the owner (by accident of course)?

as was mentioned earlier in this thread, track radius is measured from the center of the track so to get the actual overall dimension you have to account for the width of the track in addition to the radius. there is a reason bachmann lists layout sizes as 38" by 47" instead of 36" by 45"

don't believe me? try it yourself, either by using actual ez track components and a tape measure, or on computer using layout planning software such as anyrail.

Oh, I thought it included the roadbed as well. Sorry about that, I guess you are right.

bear in mind that 18 radius curves are measured from the centerline of the track, so the actual circle diameter is more like 38" than 36".......if 36" is all the room you have then you have a problem.

Last time I checked, 18 +18 = 36. So she should just have a problem with the track being extremely close to the edges and wall.

Please stop this now. We all know that this can't happen in one year. We are not saying thank you to you either. What you are doing is making these forums a mess and it is not helping us at all.

Thomas & Friends / Re: Sending away a character
September 29, 2015, 05:37:38 PM
If I could choose a character to leave the show, it would have to be Thomas. No, I am just kidding. It would have to be Charlie. In his first episode, he did not even want to work, he just wanted to play. He also tells jokes, but at least one of them was aimed at another engine. Now he reason why I did not say the logging locos is because they still seemed to do work, even if their island is completely devoid of people.

The only thing I don't like is how Sir Topham Hatt doesn't send Thomas to the Steam works after falling into the cave. Also, wouldn't it have been the signalman or the drivers fault fr Thomas seeming to run into Toby?

I am sorry about posting this in this area of the board but, does any body know if ehattons.com ships to the U.S. and how would I pay for it?
