17  Discussion Boards / N / The 2011 Bachmann Trains news letter /flyer.. on: February 25, 2011, 02:41:07 PM
In reading the Bachmann newsletter/ flyer for the 2011 trains catalog. It states see what’s new for 2011. Lots of new roadnames for popular items such as the N-Scale 4-4-0 American Great Northern #124 is this loco DCC equipped or ready for DCC?

Out of curiosity what would it take to produce the N-Scale 4-4-0's,0-6-0's and 2-6-2's or any other N-Scale steam loco's to have DCC in them or ready for a drop in decoder.

This depends on which part of NY State you're going ?

Speaking of Mc Henry couplers I believe they are manufactured only in ho-scale and not N-SCALE.

I think Bachmann produced the Dewitt Clinton and the John Bull in HO-scale, I'm not sure of any others. if there was one in N-SCALE. The Tom Thumb would be a nice addition.
Would anyone else care to chime in on this topic?

I have a good collection of MR magazines ,which dates from September 1968 to present. Also I have a collection of RMC magazines which dates from April 1975 to present !

Besides this, I received several of these offers from nms -national mag services- in the past ,via the USPS. I received one of those last week (this past Friday May 7,2010) and then I received one again in yesterday's (Tuesday May 11,2010) USPS  mailing ,I treated it just like junk mail ! - I circular filed it - ..  Before that I cut out the important information -my mailing address - ,then threw out the rest ...

 Jack,

Possibly you could answer these questions. If I am not mistaken Bachmann re introduced the N- SCALE 4-4-0's, I am curious to why didn't Bachmann produce them as decoder ready or have decoders already installed at the factory like the recent run of the 2-8-0's etc? Secondly,is Bachmann ever going to re attempt the 4-6-0 and the -Russian Decapod- 2-10-0 in N-scale?

In my last post here about the Berkshire's 2-8-4, no I wasn't referring to the Bangor and Aroostook RR I was referring to The Boston and Albany RR a nyc subsidiary .
And yes even the little P.S. & N. RR had a 2-10-2.

With respect to the B. & A. EIRE and The P.S. & N. RR (PITTSBURGH SHAWMUT and NORTHERN RR) had a 2-10-2 their 2-10-2 was No. 98. I have heard that the mighty erie rr and the B. & A. RR had berkshires.

All these would be nice, however I would rather see Bachmann concentrate on the locomotive models they gave up on The 4-6-0 and The 2-10-0(Russian Decapod) and get those out first.

The XX class mallets of B.R. & P. RY were 2-8-8-2's, not 2-6-6-2's.

While going through my book about The B.R. & P. -BUFFALO ROCHESTER and PITTSBURGH RAILWAY- which my friend authored and autographed (Mr. Pietrak). This railway had 2-6-6-2's and were lettered for B.R.& P. RY. and classed in the LL series numbers were :

B.R. & P. RY 700 - 754
These LL class 2-6-6-2's were built between 1914 and 1923 for the B.R. & P.
during Bachmann's production run of the 2-6-6-2 this railroad was neglected. Not everyone models u.p.rr, PRR, BN and ATSF etc..
