I have a couple of Athern F7s with dcc and sound . They are set up to run in consist . The sound is fantastic with the two running at the same time . Can't beat it.

By the amount of participaion in the last few days it would appear that the forum is slowly dying . I believe it is becoming too technical for many of the members. Let us see if we can get back on track.

Having one I know that the Athern Challenger  goes around 18" curves very nicely. The Mantua 2-6-6-2 in both configurations also navigate the 18" curves with ease.

I am well past the half century. The application of fast time and time ratio is redundant if you are at home with your layout and you are in your own world running your locos. In my opinion the application of fast time would only be relevant if you had a large layout and it was being run as a real railroad with 2 or 3 guys co-ordinating train movements. My opinion.

If anyone is really interested in stringing wire on their poles use fishing line. You can have a selection of thickness and colour. It stretches just enough to put the right sag in it from pole to pole.

The problem with shelf layouts is that you are restricted to switching operations . a 4x 8 layout gives you options.

Just tell them it is their machine and they are responsible for maintaining it . If it isn't working properly you have the option of returning it

I have one of each . Very nice machines and fairly easy to convert to dcc.

In areas where I have elected to not use EZtrack turnouts I have used Atlas remote switches I shimmed them to the right height using bulk cork sheet

The DeLaval Co. also made stationary engines and milking machines.
