1  Discussion Boards / Thomas & Friends / Re: Bachmann Thomas & Friends in 2021 on: August 11, 2020, 09:59:55 AM
Sir Handel will be made next after peter Sam, no doubt in my mind. Of course I want Bachmann to make Duncan, but they gotta do the four little engines first in my eyes. And I wouldnít mind if they used the darker blue as used on the CGI render. Not sure how much of a popular opinion this is but I actually prefer the darker blue, but again, just my opinion.

I also think the troublesome truck idea is a great one. Iíve always hated how small Bachmannís slate trucks are so a new tooling would be nice.

Overall, I think the presentation was fine. I was happy to see the new rolling stock models, (both HO and N) and diesel's large scale model looks great. I'm glad they dedicated a portion of the stream to Thomas after last weeks disappointment.

However, I'm very disappointed that we Daisy and Peter Sam have been delayed.

In response to Terrence's questions:

Yes, I would buy A Bachmann Stepney.

Iíd think heíd be very popular with the older fans. I know there are some people who say how irrelevant he is and that he wouldnít be as popular with kids. (I used to be one of those people, believe it or not.) Frankly that shouldnít matter so long as we show Bachmann our love for him. Lets not forget that Duck was announced in 2012 before he returned to CGI. And even still, the majority of the people who use Bachmann are older fans of the show.

As for any other character that would be a better fit, I canít think of one. (In HO scale) the amount of support for Stepney has been immeasurable. Bachmann has always been good to us in the past, so letís hope theyíll keep it up.

So hereís what I want:

Tar Wagon
Well wagon
Red Express coach
Red brake coach

Narrow gauge:
Sir Handel
Brown brake van

As for the other scales, I donít really know, seeing as I donít use them, but Iím still looking forward to February.

Remember this post by Bachmannís Twitter:

ďOur product development team is well aware of the requests for Stepney and is exploring the possibility of producing it in the future.ď

I do very much like Origins James. However, I donít like the fact that Bachmannís Twitter account posted it a few days before and very poorly blurred it out to the point where people were making jokes about it. I wouldíve been less disappointed about having only one announcement. I do wish more Thomas products were revealed, however, the entire presentation had very few products compared to last year. This is most likely due to the pandemic. This isnít just exclusive to the Thomas & Friends range. As the guy said there were only around 21 products announced in the presentation. I think the fact that itís the 75th anniversary is still irrelevant in my personal opinion because Mattel themselves only released a few products and isnít even pushing Thomasís 75th in the show anyway. Itís not like Iíll lose sleep over it, but Iím still disappointed. While I think the people running the twitter are great people who have good intentions, I think they need to handle announcements like this better in the future.

Remember, Stepney is still a likely candidate. Donít lose hope!

I think that thereís a possibility that they will base her face off the classic series because there hasnít ever been any new daisy merchandise with the new face. Might just be wishful thinking though. I can see it going With either The classic or cgi face.
6  Discussion Boards / Thomas & Friends / Thoughts on a Bachmann Spencer Redesign? on: April 29, 2020, 10:48:51 AM
As some may already know, the Bachmann model of Spencer is very block shaped in the boiler, and lacks the curvature and slope of the boiler used on the model in the TV show or on an actual A4 Pacific Locomotive. This was due to the moving eye mechanism. While it is a cool gimmick, I think I would prefer a model that looks like the actual Spencer model. The question I want to pose is this: Would you like to see a Bachmann Spencer redesign, and what do think the possibility of it actually happening is?

For me, I would love to see a Bachmann Spencer redesign. Spencer is a very iconic character and I want him to be represented as seen in the show. I know some donít have a problem with the current Bachmann model of Spencer, and thatís fine. However, when I look at the model, my opinion goes from itís not that bad to it could be better.

Now would it actually happen? Itís very unlikely. Spencer is the most expensive model in the range right now, and I believe the sales have been decent for a while. But you never know. Bachmann does seem to listen to the fans from time to time. Like when they redesigned James or Diesels face. I know Spencer would obviously take more time, but it would still be nice to see.

I know itís unlikely, but When the Bachmann Daisy model gets revealed, PLEASE have clear windows. I donít care if it shows the motor.

Model train stuff is the website that is the most affordable to me and has wonderful service. However no matter the website there will most likely alway be shipping costs. I highly recommend going to train shows and look for the items you need. Theyíll most likely have more then what you need and theyíre very entertaining as well.

Very good points. Though I find the fact that itís the 75th anniversary this year is irrelevant. Because considering we got LBSC Thomas and Daisy, it would be impossible for them to complete Stepney this year. Considering Oliver was announced in 2015 and released in 2017. Also, Stepney doesnít really represent Thomas & Friends as a whole, and neither did Oliver. Although he was a VERY highly requested character. Other then that, Stepney is very possible, considering Bachmann acknowledged him.

Hereís what I want:

HO Stepney - I initially thought he was too obscure to happen. However considering Bachmann acknowledged the fact that he was a popular request has given me hope. I seriously do think he is a possibility.

HO Tar Tankers reintroduced - theyíre very iconic considering the fact that they only had a big impact in one episode.

HO Classic Style Mail car reintroduced - I donít mind how the CGI ones look too much, however the older ones are definitely more nostalgic. Theyíre hard to find nowadays and when you do find them, expect to pay a premium.

On30 Sir Handel - last of the main six, might as well round up the bunch.

As long as itís happy, Iím happy. Iíd like to see the open mouth version we saw on the Hornby model specifically.
