From every era of the TVS
Leaves Diesel 10 and Havery as the only ones if we speak technically .
I am so happy Nia is not happening for the 80th year .
The saying unexpected further proves that it will be one of these characters. I am certain it will .

Edward is probably happening in N scale in 2026 if they get on track with the class 08s and Henry .

For large it seems the future is kinda not the best . I am sure they'll do Sidney one day and black James but I can't imagine a new engine like Edward.
Maybe Henrietta if we ever get a new tool . But overall, those are my predictions and I predict that large scale probably won't have anything new until the right time.

Like overall with there being no mandate . They could do them . BoCo would likely be a better option as face sculpts of him have already been made as we need a new large diesel in the line and Bachmann won't have to pay fees to the bluebell railway for him .
BoCo would sell out instantly and I think he would be a perfect edition to make up for this time .

This would be a perfect way to make up for it .
In addition selling BoCo would allow younger kids to discover the classic series .

As for a make up release . I think a good idea would be to finally do a model era only character . Stepney and BoCo have been suggested for ages and I think now after this massive disappointment it would be a really good time to do them .
Stepney BoCo and Class 40 are the only Awdry created standard gauge characters that appear in the TVS that Bachmann has yet to make .

Class 40 is super obscure and only appears in 2 episodes but only really has a role in one of those .

So bad news the set has been cancelled.
I was looking foward to it so that's a shame .

Quote from: Yard Master on June 23, 2025, 11:50:26 AMHi all,

Harold is out of stock at Bachmann but is not discontinued. We are working on scheduling a new production run.

For the mid-year NMRA announcements, we will only be making a Thomas & Friends announcement in HO scale this year. We hope you will still look forward to it.
Wow so this happened . To be honest when predicting Edward I was not sure about this .
However does this mean that there will be only new item or it will only be HO scale stuff .
I am sure they will go with whiff if it's only one new product . As Stanley is done so a new tool is needed to keep the ball rolling .

I like some of these ideas .
I have mentioned for a while how diesel 10 havery and hiro along with whiff would be great ideas for the range .
Seeing the post van would be super cool and I would 100% buy it .
The iconic Sodor figure pack would be a great way to get a lot of characters that have been known faces .
I think if they did make the pack it would come with
Alicia botti ,Lord callen ,the Duke , The duchess , Sodor Mayor , the earl of Sodor .
Smudger would be nice as he would be a repaint and he could be used as a test bed for the possibility of making Stepney or BoCo .
Overall I think most people on the form are on the same page that diesel 10 Hiro havery and whiff should be next characters in the range . Diesel 10 is the one I want to see the most . However I feel as whiff is most likely as he appeared in AEG and is a tank engine so he would be cheaper then Hiro and not have attachments like Diesel 10 or Havery .

Quote from: DustyMarie53! on May 30, 2025, 08:04:31 PMA potential future Douglas is interesting, but it is worth noting, as they've talked before on stream they go get measurements from the TR themselves. Douglas is currently in repairs I believe in pieces, and unknown when will be back in service. So that might be off the table for a while if they hadn't had foresight. Which could potentially be another reason Duncan was cancelled indefinitely. I believe Douglas's repairs started around early August so timeline wise it could lineup. It's not the main reason as already confirmed but wonder if it played a factor at all
I think the reason why was because his CGI model was so bad . But also something to mention is that Rusty has never really looked like midlander in the show . While Bachmann Rusty is based on his cgi design it is way smaller then he is in the show . However Rusty still does not look like he could be reused.

Regardless personally I like how they made him smaller as I feel it's more right  . The same reasons why I like how Bachmann has shown to prioritize Awdry created characters or characters who were brought back into cgi like Stanley or Rosie .
Which overall makes this range feel correct and I want to thank Bachmann for it .

I could see Douglas being made and reused for Duncan rather then vise versa

Douglas could happen in 3 colors .
RAF blue
Red
Green

I could see the RAF blue version being a huge seller .
We already have seen the Baldwin 2-6-2t done in a few scales another world war 1 engine could sell well .

Considering how much the narrow gauge range of welsh railways has sold in the US I think a new tool that could be reused for Duncan is a great idea . Maybe they could bring the double Farlie tooling over to the states and make that into MightyMac as overall the possibilities are endless .

For an ideal Duncan for me that would be good for the Bachmann range is to have it look like Douglas from the TR with a CGI Duncan face and the well loved yellow which the TVS gave him.
As for narrow gauge as a whole I doubt we will get anything for them this year as they have been doing a lot with the narrow gauge lately .

The slip coaches seem cool but I wonder if they could  sell well enough to justify new molds for 3 different  faces . I do think a new wagon tooling would be nice to see in the HO range  soon .

I think whiff is way more likely but another CGI character that's fans and kids love that is so popular is Diesel 10 and as it is TATMR 25th and the franchise as a whole 80th I think have the ultimate villain of the brand is a really good idea . There is nothing that epic about Whiff compared to Diesel 10 I understand that his costs of tooling would be hard to justify however if you consider the fact he has been made in nearly every merch range his popularity could likely pay off the tooling costs easily .

Moving on from that .

We have a chance to see  more RWS wagons in the future for the line .
Fred and Rickety are the first that come to mind as they were planned but got cancelled 20 years ago .

The ULP wagons are some iconic wagons that I could see being good sellers the ULP branding is seen on 2 types of wagons plank wagons and vans .

The FFQ wagon would also be nice and a cool addition to the line .

Along with that some wagons with the letters NW as a reference to the rev w awdrys layout could be nice to see.

For the engines that only appear in the books
I doubt any of them could happen .
However Stanley from the mid Sodor railway could be a repaint. As they make his basis but I feel smudger has way much of higher chance then him .

The way Lionel trains did the faces is something to take note off with them being made of rubber .
