Large / Lettering
May 19, 2017, 02:14:32 PM
Years ago I used dry transfer lettering, now its almost impossible to find any. I remember using Lettra Set.
But that is even hard to find these days, up here in the Great White North.
All I want to do is make up ( 6 x Oil Road Service ) in 3/32 white Roman Railway lettering to go on my U.T.L.X. tank cars, for the D&RGW.
Anyone know where or # of such lettering can be found.
Thanks in advance for any help.

Does anyone out there in Narrow Gauge country ,have the numbers pre 1954 of the
UTLX cars used by Gramps without the Gramps wording on it. I am more interested
in the 55000 series cars for ( ROAD Oil SERVICE ) on the frameless tanks.
Thanks in advance.
Also where can I get photos of these cars,  ( frameless )

Can we stay on the topic please, it has nothing to do with Starbucks.
Thanks in advance for complying to my request.

Yes,
As Bill said, thanks for your response and I know along with me, others will hope there will be an upward turn in this large scale hobby.

This post was more about the locomotives becauseI have read here on the sound board,
lots about rolling stock, not saying rolling stock isn't on my list, but I am more interested
in the locomotives of the Narrow gauge D&RGW,
So hoping to hear from the Bachmann or Yardmaster someday soon.

Large / To the Bachmann -Development of engines

Just thinking out load;
Indulge me please.
Since Bachmann has made the K-27 and the C-19, in large scale, you probably hear a lot of
request for engines and rolling stock.
What what I would love to see manufactured, any time in the not to distant future is a T-12
or a C-25 in 1;20.3, I know they have been made by Accucraft, but they are way out of most
of our pay ranges  for this hobby.
I personally would like to see the T-12 manufactured by Bachmann. like the one being restored
and should be running on one of the 2 remaining D&RGW tourist lines in the next 2 years.
Not sure which one.
It would make a great addition to anyones stable of narrow gauge engines, including mine.
Then maybe in the K-36 & or 37s. Or vice-versa, the K-36 & or 37s and then the T-12 or C-25.
I know it's a lot to ask, but they don't and won't be all made made in one year, maybe 2, Ha ha ha,
I know tooling is very expensive and the economy has hit our hobby very hard, but wee,
the little boys of yours in narrow gauge, need new toys. I think many of us in the large scale,
narrow gauge world, would love any of these locomotive and maybe they would be a sell out
like the K-27s and nearly sold out C-19s.
I also know know you get lots of request for rolling stock too,, can any light be shed on any future stock coming our way.
My 2 cents worth, now a penny for your thoughts.
Thanks in advance

I have a board you are looking for, taken out of my K-27 when I installed my revolution board.
It's been in a bag by itself and is in mint shape.
I don't know what its worth but you can contact me at engineerdoug@rogers.com.
We can talk and come to a suitable arrangement.

What, no one has played with smoke units.
Someone must have.

Large / Smoke units

Has anyone put a pulse smoke unit in any of the K-27's or C-16's by Bachmann.
If you have, what make did you use and how has it worked for you,
do you have a video to show your work.
I am thinking of adding, pulse smoke units to my engines.
Thanks in advance.

Large / To the Yard Master re- speakers
November 06, 2016, 01:01:26 AM
To the Yard Master;
You requested the speaker size in the C-19, large scale.
In my subject speakers, I said the C-19 came with a 3 inch, 8 ohm, 1 watt speaker, low profile.
To low of a wattage for the P8 sound board. In this case Phoenix Sound told me the higher the
watts, the better the sound and less chance of a speaker being blown because of the power that
it's amplifier output, puts out.
So I have ordered from Phoenix, a 3 inch, 8 ohm, 4 Watt, low profile speaker for my C-19
In this case, size does matter.
Thanks Mudhen

To the Yardmaster,
My C-19 come with one 8 ohm - 1watt, 3 inch speaker.
I am told most sound systems need  8 ohm,
3 to 4 watt speakers which comes with the sound board, for
example Phoenix Sound.

Large / Speakers ( C-19)
October 30, 2016, 12:25:26 AM
Is it just me.
Has anyone else blown a speaker in the C-19, or any
other Bachmann engine. It comes with a 8 ohm, 1watt speaker.
What is the maximum ohm and watt size I can put into this for
the best sound quality and know I will not have another speaker
blow on me. ???? Never had this happen to me before.
Thanks in advance for any help to this problem.

Large / Won't link to run
April 17, 2016, 12:00:11 AM
I have been a big fan of Bachmann's Narrow Gauge D&RGW engines.
I have just installed a Crest revolution, phoenix sound and a 14.8 volt battery for power and have hooked up everything as supposed to be.
even had my local dealer check the wiring.
Al switches are in the proper position, run, large scale, and battery.
Battery is connected to 12 volt power connector and wires from the wheels to main board have been disconnected.
When I try to link the revolution to the controller, nothing.
If I switch to track and turn on the battery, I hear sound out of the phoenix board through the speaker ?
When I place the switch back to battery, nothing again and the revolution will not link.
Any ideas about how to resolve this problem????.
And yes the engine is connected to the tender.
Thanks for all replies in advance, I really want to run this engine soon.
