On30 / 2 truck shay
February 03, 2011, 06:03:37 PM
hi all,
i just bought a new 2 truck shay.( well the catalog offer says 2007)
when i opened the package the front truck driveshaft was disconnected.
i took the truck off and reinserted the shaft, no matter how i align the shaft the truck binds when the shaft collapses and it will not pivot all the way compared to fully extended.
it turns sharper to the left than the to the right.
it sticks like it is bottoming out. i hope this makes sense.
the rear truck pivots fine both ways.
thanks, Willis.

Large / firebox pc board
June 22, 2010, 04:05:42 PM
mr Jack, i fried the leds on the firebox flicker board on the 120.5 logging loco.
i contacted parts to order, 2 different pages that came with the loco on page #G828x-IS006 shows part#G811x#PCBO3a, the other page  G828x-IS007 shows part#G811x#PCB01.
the lady in parts is telling me that the pcbo3a is in the gearbox ass. and that the #PCBO1 which is the same # as the main board???????  this is a pc board with 4 wires that plugs into the main board.
when you look up the main board, all it comes with is the main board and the PCBO4.
the lady was very nice, but trying to get her to understand what i was trying get across to her, and her not knowing why there is 2 part numbers for the same board on the 2 different pages.
to keep from loosing my cool, i just hung up and will try to get help here, HOPEFULLY.
thanks, willis.

Mr Jack,
there is no weight above the post other than the boiler shell itself, just to be sure i put a piece of clay on the top of the post that was about 1/8 th inch thick and tightened the shell down it did not touch the clay at all.
i thank you for your help.
