Could be your transformer. You need a "pure sine wave" to run properly in DC. If it is an old transformer or one with pulse power it would cause DC running issues.

"For E-Z App locomotive control the Bachmann E-Z App, which has preset settings"

What the heck are you trying to say?

If it is a non sound unit it will have a 2 function decoder:

This may help. you can use a an adapter cable to plug an eight pin decoder into the socket. You will however need to install a speaker and wire it to the decoder.,27726.0.html

Butch - it sounds like you know what you are doing. My first instinct is always to do a factory reset on the decoder. If that doesn't work maybe have a look under the hood to see if any of the wires have lost contact with the board. The little black plastic wire holders on the decoder come loose sometimes. If you don't get results you should contact the Bachmann Service department for help. Call Laura Harris the service manager during normal operating hours.
7  Discussion Boards / N / Re: Bach Man: Parts for new N-scale Soundvalue 2-8-0 (UP #619)? on: November 18, 2018, 12:37:41 AM
Questions regarding the availability of parts should be directed to the Bachmann service department

This may seem like a dumb question but I assume you are aware that the reverse loop module only works for DCC?

Sorry but parts are no longer available for the Hogwarts loco. Give the service department a call and let them know what is wrong and perhaps they can help.

14  Discussion Boards / Plasticville U.S.A. / Re: How About 'Plasticville Sodor'?? on: October 05, 2018, 09:07:01 AM
Limited run basically means it is a resin casting that does not involve creating expensive steel molds thus it is only available for a short period of time. If the buildings sell well we produce more - if they don't well......
15  Discussion Boards / HO / Re: GP 30 Sound missing compressor and fan sounds for Bachmann on: October 05, 2018, 09:03:41 AM
If you don't hear it it's not there. Sometimes documentation can have misprints that are eventually corrected as you noted. SoundTraxx provides the documentation and is responsible for updating it so if you note things that don't seem correct feel free to contact them and bring it to their attention. Soundvalue decoders do not have all the features of a Tsunami2 decoder - it is a different processor that is more economical to manufacture from a price point perspective thus it is not as full featured as the more expensive Tsunami2.
