Discussion Boards / N / 70 TON Loco w/DCC
|
on: January 21, 2013, 08:32:27 PM

Greetings!
I've had this loco for about 6 months and it doesn't want to break in. Each time I run it, I have to mother it around the track for 5 mins to get it going. Slow speed running is not very good. It's like the motor is just stiff and won't loosen up.
Any ideas? Dan

Hi Bach-man,
Here's some irony for you.... The kit I purchased at my LHS [mentioned above] had 2 C/D walls instead of 1 A/B and 1 C/D wall. I put in a request just now for Service to send me the correct wall....This kitbash has become one of my more interesting MRR sagas.
Cheers!
HERE'S AN UPDATE:
Bachmann replaced the whole kit. Great response to a small issue. It continues to reinforce why I have Plasticville models on my layout. Thank you!

That's okay Bach-man,
Last night I went to my LHS, New York Central Toys & Trains in Mishawaka IN, and Jay & Len hooked me up with the complete kit for a great price; I'm good for now and have pieces left over for the next kitbash.
FYI...I was going to upload a picture of what I'm using the kit for, but it said the repository is full
Cheers!

My best tools are a sharp serrated knife about 10 inches long, and an Ace hardware Pocket Plane. shttp://www.acehardware.com/product/index.jsp?productId=1290116&cp=2568443.2568450.2628076.2629124

Discussion Boards / Williams by Bachmann / Lionel Electric Railroad Upgrades for Wiliams by Bachmann Locos
|
on: October 22, 2010, 09:07:48 AM

With the latest round of high prices from Lionel, and the fact that I'm already running a Bachmann On30 segment on my railroad, I'm considering the possibility of using the ERR TMCC upgrades on the Williams by Bachmann SD90 engines. I model the NS and it's heritage lines and Bachmann seems to have a lot of NS stock available for purchase at reasonable prices compared to Lionel. The O scale portion of my railroad is all Lionel Legacy or TMCC at this point.
Has anyone ever installed a Electric Railroad TMCC upgrade [and railsounds] in a Bachmann O scale loco?

eBay is no deal for track; at least not for Lionel fastrack. By the time you add their freight charges you're above retail in many cases. I've found a number of better resources such as wholesaletrains.com and modeltrainstuff.com. My local dealer gives 20% off every day on Lionel track, and I bought my On30 track from him too at a discount. Try 'em....Google "New York Central Toys and Trains"...good guys!
