I have 4 Bachmann DCC-ready engines;
   K4-s 4-6-2 #84014
   Light mountain 4-8-2 #81607
   Consolidation 2-8-0 #11412
   Decapod 2-10-0 #81705

I purchased 4 Bachmann E-Z Command 1 Amp decoders with 8-pin NMRA plug at the WGH Show in Nashville last weekend. (Great show, by the way!)

There has been much written about problems with installing decoders in the early DCC-ready engines. Is this still true when using the Bachmann decoders? If anyone knows of such problems and ways around them, I'd be very appreciative.

Hi Carl
Yes, there have been issues with early release tenders, but most of the problems have been with using non-Bachmann decoders or switching tenders from one locomotive to another.

Since you purchased genuine Bachmann decoders, suggest not looking for problems that may not exist.

Bachmann decoders are designed to be compatible with their circuit boards. At this point I think your best approach is to simply plug in the decoders and try them out.

If you experience any problems, then of course report back and let us know.

Regards.
