a "sticky" topic is one that will always remain at the top of the list, regardless of when the last post was made..

for example, a topic such as "please read the forum rules before posting" could be made (by the moderator) into a "sticky" and it would always "stick" to the top of the list where people can see it...rather than gradually falling to the bottom of the list if no new posts are made, like a regular "non sticky" thread would..

Simple Machines is the software they are using here.  I find it MUCH better than the old board.    SMF = Simple Machines Forum.
You can find out more about this software here: http://www.simplemachines.org/

sure..they are the same as on any forum.
"sticky" just means the thread will "stick" to the top, and not fade lower on the list like "non-sticky" threads will..

This forum is now the same general format as 90% of all internet forums..
welcome to the 21st century...at last.

I thought I would try out some of the BBC tags by sending myself a personal message (better than cluttering up the board.)  But when I go to send it, I keep getting the message:

The following error or errors occurred while posting this message:
The letters you typed don't match the letters that were shown in the picture.

What's happening here??
