Hey B'mann

Can you please clarify the part numbers of Bachmann rolling stock.  I purchase some of my rolling stock on eBay, and have seen cars listed as 1:20.3 with Big Hauler boxes.  Looking on several reseller sites, it appears that car with the 88XXX part numbers are the Spectrum line and the  9XXXX are the Big Hauler line.  Is this an accurate evaluation?

Thanks

Currently looking through the printed catalog on the desk, yep, it is.

Now, there are some 1:20.3 cars in the Big Hauler section: I think most Big Hauler stock scales out i n the 1:24 ti 1:22 range.
Those 1:20.3 big Haulers are series 95xxx gondola, 20ft box, and flat car;plus the 9250x side dump and v-dump cars.

Those are on pages 155 and 156 of printed catalog.

Spectrum 1:20.3 is pp.241 to 260.

Hi Bob! You are correct, as long as you keep it to rolling stock, including caboose cars, not including all coaches,  The 88xxx are definitely all Spectrum 1:20.3.   You are also right on the 9xxxx series, except for some coach cars in the 89xxx series.   The cars listed below are all 1:20.3, but are not Spectrum

The following are the cars that I know of in the 9xxxx series that are advertized as Big Hauler and 1:20.3:

95344   F&CC   588   1998   Box Car
95368   PRR   6699   1998   Box Car
95370   None   None   2002   Box Car
95612   B&O   1525   1998   Flat Car
95627   ETL Co   None   1998   Flat Car
95670   None   None   2002   Flat Car
95344   F&CC   588   1998   Box Car
95368   PRR   6699   1998   Box Car
95370   None   None   2002   Box Car
95612   B&O   1525   1998   Flat Car

These are the dump cars:

92502   None   None   2002   Mine Car   Wood Side Dump Mine Car Brown metal wheels
92502   None   None   1998   Mine Car   Wood Side Dump Mine Car Green
92503   None   None   2002   Mine Car   Wood Side Dump Mine Car Black metal wheels
92504   None   None   2002   Mine Car   V Dump Car metal wheels

They come in Big Hauler Boxes and are not spectrum.  Some argue that they are not really 1:20.3, but that is what they are advertized as.

Shay replacement trucks are in the 88xxx series but so far all other 88xxx items are Spectrum Fn3 1:20.3.

some Coaches, Circus cars, and Locomotive  numbers are all over the map  11xxx, 31xxx, 81xxx, 82xxx, 83xxx, 89xxx,90xxx,91xxx,92xxx,96xxx,97xxx,and 98xxx

Have fun on Ebay!
