I am in the process of replacing the old horn hoook couplers with mchenry/kadee knuckles and also removing gear boxes from the truck and mounting them to the car itself. This seems to work much better... but some of them are worn and need to be replaced. Most of the rolling stock is Bachmann, and I was wondering if these were available to buy? Can you buy them with or without the gear boxes? I need several pairs ... Any feedback is appreciated!

There are many makers of replacement trucks for your cars, not only B-mann. I myself ussually use Kadee, Proto 2000, or Walthers trucks all with excellent results, although with the Walthers trucks I usually add metal wheels sets. If you have access to a Walthers catalogue, there is an entire section devoted to trucks and couplers.

On Bachmann cars I file off the hub where the screw installs, then install Athearn trucks and a suitable machine screw. Kadee sells draft gear boxes and those are what I use on cars that came with talgo trucks.
