More intrusting information and more stuff i learned about. i want thank every one again for all the intresting stuff and remember pictures are welcome and so are stories. ^_^

while they are electric, mu cars and light rail vehicles are not locomotives. that is like calling a budd rdc a diesel locomotive.....

they simply can't compare to watching 2 gg1s pulling 100 cars of freight.

they are fascinatiing in their own way, though. and being passenger trains that means you can get up close and personal with them in a way you can't with freight trains.

While electric locomotives are mostly just memories on this continent, they are still in daily use in Europe, both for passenger and freight services.  My favorites were the crocodiles.  Predating the GG1's by a decade or two, they had almost double the power.  Like the GG1's, once seen they are never forgotten.  The link below is to a photo of an Austrian croc.

Also found an Austrian Crocodile, along with a whole lot more electrics, on youtube at the link below.  The Croc. runs by at about 3:12.  Not bad for a locomotive close to 100 years old.
