Does anyone know the voltage of the bulbs installed in the 80 ton 3 truck shay at the factory?
I have a new one that I want to to convert to DCC and need to know if I will need a resistor for the LEDs

if it is DCC ready, the PC board will have a resistor on it. i do not have a shay but i think it uses a led. i have a couple spectrums and come with the resistor on the pc board

i do know the pc board in Bachmann locos have a resistor on the PC board if the loco has led lights. the sites that talk about the shay instal, just plug in the decoder.

my older shay was plug and play.  It has LED's.  No mods needed on the lighting system in my experience.
