Why won't my DCC ready locomotive respond to my DCC controller

DCC ready means that the model's motor is isolated from the frame of the locomotive so that a DCC decoder can be inserted between the power pickups and the motor leads without shorting out the decoder. Some models are equipped with a socket to accept a "plug in" decoder.
