I run DC only but have been reading on this forum that many feel that DCC is very fussy about power pickups.

Lenz Gold decoders with USP (Uninterruptible Signal Processing) would seem to be ideal for trolleys operating on overhead.  With capacitors for backup power, these decoders will continue to function even with intermittent contact.  With batteries for backup power, they will continue to function with no contact at all.  In my own experiments, I found it mind boggling to operate a locomotive forward, reverse, varying speeds, tuning lights on and off, with the locomotive running the whole time on rails covered with electrical tape.

I have been thinking of trying an 0n30 scale trolley under wire with one of these decoders.  (note to wrhyde37 - 0n30 scale equipment is also H0 gauge.)
