My 4-4-0 lost it's front wheels. I put them bach in but now they short circuit.

You may have put one or both in backwards. The wheels on one end of the axles make electrical contact with the axles. The other wheels do not.

Thanks Jim I will check it out. I don't see to well so that sounds like a good possibility.
