Hi
I cannot find any reference to the Desert King set it is defiantly made as I have lay buy-ed two sets.
It is a BHP iron ore train an Australian one
What I am trying to find out is are separate sale iron ore cars and loco made.
Two locos and eight cars won't make much of an iron ore train for me to run on the rare occasions I can attend the club I belong to.
Given the loco type and ore car design I assume it was manufacture
by Bachmann USA.
Does any one know anything about the set.
regards John

I looked at some photos of the set, and it appears as though Bachmann U.K. or Europe produced it using tooling made by Bachmann USA. Although the ore cars do not match those currently produced here in the states Try contacting the others by phone or email and inquiring about it. This may be similar to how Bachmann USA imported the SY2-8-2 from Bachmann China. The set is available from a multitude of sellers, all of which seem to be located in Australia or thereabouts. At any rate, here is the contact info:

Hi
have had response from Aus distributor
Just in case someone else wants to know

Zimbler Pty Ltd
Its a special commission for them
sets and BHP ore cars for separate sale.
Are available at normal Australian hobby outlets that stock Bachmann.
Might have to get another set to get a third loco and add a few more ore cars the BHP trains are not know for being short.
Am told they have 5 locos three up front two in the middle a locotrol car and three hundred and something ore cars
I don't think mine will be that big not enough room by a very long margin
and not that big a budget.
Does any one do a locotrol car??

Hope you see this Buzz and Co.
The sets are still available in Aust and i have seen the ore cars packaged seperatly, but to get a loco you have to buy the set with the track and controller.

Anyway what i want to know is even though there is no mention of DCC or sound anywhere on the box, on the train, or on any written info, when i put my train on my digital hornby track it made a noise just like a train, but would not move.
The movement may be due to an address issue, not sure,
Does anyone have any idea whats going on?
Or was the train noise just a fluke and it was actually going into melt down mode?
