I have Williams F3 Diesel (20185) that has been in storage for a while (I want my kids to enjoy the hobby but pre-kindergarten twins is asking for trouble).  I put the power unit on the track the other day and it started/ran sluggish.  Any thoughts?  Thanks.  Paul

Dear Paul,

It could be dirty track, loose track pins, or loose wiring.

Do you have a lighted caboose or passenger car?  Compare its brightness on the track close to the transformer vs. far away from the transformer.

Press down a little between each of the track sections to see if the far-away lit car's brightness changes.

It could be that your engine needs cleaning and lubing.

Hope this helps.

Let us know how it turns out.

Sincerely,

Joe Satnik
If your loco is too heavy to lift, you'd better be able to ride in, on or behind it.

Thanks Joe.  I'll double check the track connections, and as you said it may need a fresh lube.  Thanks again. Paul
