Thinking about buying Spectrum SD-45

The nose stripe Burlington Northern SD-45 (item 82761, road number 6474) looks right for my layout and time period (early 1970s).  Hobby shops in my area (Fort Worth TX) do not stock new Bachmann, so I cannot examine it.  Before I order one, I would like some feed back from owners.  I assume that the newer ones come with dummy knuckle couplers, but not sure since catalog photos show the previous one (road number 6470 with out-dated Rapidos).  Also, how do these run?  I owned an old Kato SP SD-45 that ran well, but needed a lot of power, started at about 6 volts and drew about half an amp running.  My Spectrum F-7 A-B set and older 1990s Spectrum GE Dash 8-40CW both do much better.  How well does the Spectrum SD-45 run?  Train World has a great price on them.  I am tempted.

Hi!
Why don't you look way north of you to Denton / Flower Mound? There is a shop who's selling Bachmann galore and darn cheap. You can find TheFavoriteSpot also on ebay.
