reverse loop

I want to incorporate a reverse loop on my layout. could anyone help me out with this. I am pretty sure I have to use some sort of blocking/cab control to reverse the polarization. If the loco hits the reverse track won't the pick-ups be on two different tracks? Hope you know what I mean. Thanx

Just a comment, reverse loop are a lot easier to accommodate if you have DCC then you can use an automatic reversing unit, and you won't have to flip switches every-time it goes in and out of the loop.
