I need some help.  I am looking for some 3" curve pieces with the black road bed.  Do they make them?  I have seen alot with the gray but would really like to find the black...

Thanks...

I'm almost 98% sure they have never been made in black roadbed. They might have been made in grey roadbed. My advice...cut your own. EZ track cuts fairly easily.

Dear Dave,

It's hard to tell from what part of the curve you are measuring 3 inches.

Curve track pieces are more accurately described in terms of radius and degrees, as in 360 degrees in a circle.

Normal 22" radius curves are 16 per circle, or 360/16, or 22.5 degrees each.

Half 22" radius curves are 32 per circle or 360/32, or 11.25 degrees each.

Black roadbed track selection is very limited.

Hope this helps.

Sincerely,

Joe Satnik

If your loco is too heavy to lift, you'd better be able to ride in, on or behind it.

I suspect this "3" curve is a 10o curve of 18" radius, otherwise known as a 1/3 curve.  I don't have one to measure but my calculations show it is about 3.14" measured along its center line.  It would be even closer to 3" if you measured the cord.  Not made with black base, but no reason not to take a grey one and paint the base black.

Growing older is mandatory but growing up is optional.

Thanks all.  I went ahead and used the gray roadbed and was able to get my inside loop finished.  Now on to the next step.... ;D
