Hi

Im was wondering where I could get a strip of LEDs for use in some of my HO scale rolling stock. I have seen a few, but they have been for large scale. I would prefer something battery operated, since I don't have much time to work on my trains.

Thanks!

Rapido's Easy Peasy lighting is an easy solution.  Click on this link for more information:

Growing older is mandatory but growing up is optional.

Jim-

You are absolutely correct but the Easy-Peasy units are truly expensive. One can free-lance this stuff with parts from Miniatronics or Talking Electronics. The latter is a great place with a huge amount of expertese and all of the parts one might need. Try:

boohbah62,

Doneldon is correct that there are cheaper ways of doing the same thing.  However, your limited modeling time and desire for battery operation suggested the easy to install, battery operated Easy-Peasy units.

There's also the Miniatronics 100YCL01 passenger car lighting kit. It's available from Walthers and Horizon Hobbies. The built in capacitor will hold the LEDs on for up to 4 minutes for 'station stops', and it can be cut down for shorter cars. There's also a kit for lighting a caboose, Miniatronics 100CB201.

If at first you don't succeed, throw it in the spare parts box.
