How hard would it be to turn the Bachmann 2-8-0 Connie into a 4-8-0 Mastadon?

I'm aiming to make something along these lines:

Not "too" hard, I'd imagine. Cut the frame where the "box" around the drivers ends and the cylinder saddle attaches move the cylinders forward, then use some heavy brass or aluminum as an extension there. The boiler conveniently comes apart in the middle, so you just stretch that out and add a course in the middle to compensate for the added length. The hardest part, I think, would be dealing with the valve gear, but if you pull all the Baker valve gear off anyway, then all you need do is fabricate the Walschearts to fit the longer distance from the 3rd driver to the cylinders.

Great prototype Take photos of your progress! :D
