How do i find out the minumum curve size for my G Scale Two Truck Shay?

I run my 2Truck Shay around 6ft diameter curves with no problems but anything smaller can put added risk to the drive shafts popping out.

Get some flex track and bend it in to progressively tighter radius until loco derails.

I used to run mine on the R-1 (24" radius) for shows--with the gear side out.  gj

You really don't have to worry about these derailing, that's not where the minimum curve comes in.  The minimum curve for the shay is the smallest curve you can run on without the driveshaft sliding out of it's pocket while running.

I ran mine for hours on the 24" radius track at shows with the u-joints to the outside without the slide-sections coming out.  gj
