Can anyone advise if the BL2's that were en-route from the National Railway Musium in Wisconson ever made it to their final destination and are they ever going to be servicable again?

If no answer here, the below set of forums run by the seller of Model Railroader Magazine might be better to ask in. Many different forums. Some for prototype stuff and tourist railroads. Join for free. You can bring back info here.
People from all over the world are there. and a good place to ask about MRR products that are not sold by Bachmann.

There is a good chance you will find info in a Google search for the road name and locos. I do that a lot.

Dear All,

Here is an interesting thread on BL2s.  Can't say everything is accurate or up-to-date.

Hope this helps.

If your loco is too heavy to lift, you'd better be able to ride in, on or behind it.

the info posted is out of date. i heard the plans to run the bl2s in arizona fell through, possibly due to their condition. best place to catch one running is on the west virginia central out of elkins, wv.

on a related note, if you are expecting them to sound as exotic as they look you will be disappointed. under that unique body beats the heart of an f3........

Thanks for the roster update! I forgot to ask about the BL2's; are they still
"on the way"??

I guess I would have to say that's on hold, have another use for them that may
take priority, so they're still at Metro East until we decide

Metro East is a locomotive rebuilder in Kansas City. as this post was dated 30jan2011, and previous posts indicated that they were there about a year by that time, metro east would be a good place to look for them. every indication i have seen is that the new owner intends to use them. where is the question. if they were currently being used, you'd think there would have been something about them in one of the magazines.

The last status I can find on ex-BAR #52 & #56 is a photo showing them sitting on a siding in Du Quinn, IL on Jan 27, 2010. It's like they fell of the earth after that. Apparently UP refused to transport them to the AREZ from St. Louis because they did not have coupler alignment hardware installed. They were sent to Metro East Industries for a retro-fit in Dec 2009, but no word on whether the work was actually done or not. They still do not show up on the AREZ loco roster. I sent an e-mail to Metro East Industries to see if they could provide any info on these locos, but no response yet.

If at first you don't succeed, throw it in the spare parts box.
