What would be your opinion of a re-release of the 50-Ton Climax, WITH improved gears, or a 3-truck Heisler, namely, Cass#6. Or a 2 and/or 4-truck Shay. The Heisler could be done in Cass#6, Meadow River#6, Bostonia Coal and Clay Products#20, and undecorated. Two truck shay Could be done in various logging schemes and undec. Four truck shay could be done in C&O#1-4, Western Maryland#900, 5,
Southern#4000-4001, N&W#56/156, WVP&P#13-14.

A hesiler would be nice... a 2 truck shay and climax would be nice for me, sense I run smaller engines and would be eaiser to switch cars around. I don't see why they wouldn't make a good profit.

There may be some hope for any HO Heisler now that the On30 unit has been announced.  The On30 prototype is a very small (abt. 15 ton) engine.  Similar to what Bachmann did with the Climaxes, the same essential mechanism could be used under a 40-50 ton HO loco.  It would be very nice if they did a two-truck Shay in the 30-ton range.  There were LOTS of those around the country.  I don't see doing a 4-trucker - there just weren't very many of them out there.

I'm for a heisler in spectrum quality with sound, I would have to pick one up I love those engines

I already have a Bachmann 2 truck shay (it's quite simple actually) ,a small 2 truck Heisler would be nice, I have the last run of the Rivarossi version, its a sweet loco.

Geared Steam - While not into logging railroading per se, the scene you pictured is super! I especially like the finish on your wood retaining wall...'spill the beans and tell us how you did it.

Thanks for sharing the image,

Hi Ray, originally they were colored a light brown with a wash. Several months later I decided they were the wrong color so I used a fairly strong mixture of India ink and alcohol. That scene is still unfinished but thanks for the comment.
