A fellow named Wayne Wesolowski did a lot of research on the Lincoln Funeral Train, but I think he published in Railroad Model Craftsman.  His research led to building the train in 1" scale.

As to the gauge error in US O Scale, a lot of us working in that scale refer to it as " Ob5 "  for O Scale, Broad Gauge, 5 foot.  The market is too-well saturated with 5' gauge equipment to change, and the various attempts of correcting the scale to the gauge have been too awkward to use  (ever hear of O-17/64" scale?  Only a 64th inch per foot difference, but it really makes a difference in the size of a car--It did not survive the new production after WWII.  gj

Mr. Wesolowski's article and plans was published in the February 1995 issue of Model Railroader. He has also written an 36-page booklet which is entitled "The Lincoln Train is Coming" which also describes the making of the model. Mr Wesolowski has in fact made three models of the funeral train. Two of the models are on on display at the Abraham Lincoln Presidential Library and Museum and the Museum of Funeral Customs, both located in Springfield, Illinois. The third one is at the Museum of Funeral History in Houston, Texas. Sincerely, Tom
