Dear Hal,

Very elegant procedure.  My old brain would have tried a steel band, but that is too crude. Will keep your tips in mind when my 11' x 22' arrives!!

Have you ever tried "Plum Brown" from Birchwood Casey to rust metal?
It works like a peach for carbon steel.

Rust and the variation in coloring in actual steel doesn't scale down enough.
