Does Bachmann sell or recommend a speaker for the 70 ton 3 truck Climax engine?  Mine came with a
Bachmann decoder and no speaker. I have a Tsunami decoder for it but the speaker space is very small.

Decoder and speaker for this loco. Below from the SoundTraxx site.

You will probably have to adjust the chuff rate as these locos sounded like they where running real fast, even at 10 mph which was about normal for this loco if you are not familiar with logging locos.

It appears SoundTraxx has the same as used in the three truck Shay.

Little more research. I did not see the part number for this speaker in the Parts section. I suspect it might be a 1 inch and the diagram shows a round speaker, not an oval like SoundTraxx recommends.
There is a round speaker in the Bachmann parts section but no idea what the diamter is.
Many HO can use a one inch speaker.
Geared Steam might be around. He knows the Shay and Climax really well.

Many thanks for the info.  This is my second Climax so I am aware of the chuff problem. The spacing for the
decoder and speaker is really tight.  Hopefully I can get everything in.  The round speaker is about 1/8 too big.
Thanks again

I'm just starting to work on one of these myself.  I'm using a .750 speaker.  The micro Tsunami will just fit (width wise in the water tank tender).  I've spliced the the decoder wires to a TCS 8-pin wiring harness allowing me to plug it into the socket in the Bachmann board.
