I need some information

While in Florida last weekend, a friend took me to an incredible

all-train hobby shop. I found a 4-passenger car Williams Blue Comet

set no engine just the 4 cars. There was also a 2-car set. There was only one

and the owner said it was the only one he had. I had him put it aside and

let him know if I find a locomotive I'll purchase those 2 sets. Well does Williams

Bachmann make an engine in O-Gauge for the Blue Comet because I can't seem to

find one.

Anyone have some info to help!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Have you checked with Marty at Ma and Pa junction? He deals with a lot of Williams products and just might find what you are looking for.

Marty found an older Williams GP-38 for me.

I do not remember a Williams Blue Comet model. They may have had one in brass but I have never had any info for Williams brass.

This may be a no-no but Lionel has one in their current catalog.

You might also try www.hollashtrains.com.He is in the Tampa,FL. area and has some older Williams models as well as the late stuff.

Thanks everyone!

I'll see what I come up with. Those Williams Blue Comet passenger cars are really nice.

I am so glad to have discovered Williams the quality of their products is very impressive

Did any other engines or Locomotives pull the Blue Comet cars? Just in case I can't find
the Locomotive?

Williams has a full-scale Hudson in Blue -Jersey Central? Would that work??

Dear Fred,

My old Winter 2003-2004 Williams contemporary (aka "traditional") line catalog page 7

shows the scale Die Cast Hudson Jersey Central Blue Comet as #HUD-133.

"Navigates O-42 curves."

They steer you towards the 72' Madison cars on page 29 (also O-42).

On that page it says, "Check out the Matching Hudsons on Pg. 7".

The 4 car set includes a Baggage, 2 Coach (now on-line WBB called "Pullman") and an Observation: Jersey Central #SM246.

The 2 car add-on set includes a Combine and Diner: Jersey Central (Blue Comet) #SM246CD.

The current on-line catalog WBB 40207 Jersey Central Hudson appears to be the same as the old Blue comet HUD-133,

although the old catalog drawing/painting looks a little darker than the current WBB on-line picture.

Hope this helps.

Sincerely,

Joe Satnik
If your loco is too heavy to lift, you'd better be able to ride in, on or behind it.

That should be a good choice.

I think the Blue Comet was pulled by a Pacific. But I wouldn't care.I'd use the Hudson. It is a very nice loco.

Everything arrived Friday will open it with my son later this weekend.

My other son has All-Star baseball today so we will be busy.

Will report later

M1FredQ

Last night came home early enough to open the 2-Car set of the

Blue Comet. Very impressive !!!!!!!!!!!

The colors are very well done. There is a lot of attention to detail.

Since I am still learning about "model" size. I was so excited to find

Blue Comet Passenger cars I didn't pay attention that they were 72'

They are BIG !! and look real impressive on the track. When my wife came

down stairs to get "Joey " for bed she stopped and looked and said,

"Wow, those are really nice"  (word for word quote!!!)

Will try to get the 4 car set open tonight and report back .  They barely make the

O-36 curves so I plan to go with some O-60  on the outer layout  !!!

Later!!

M1FredQ

Sorry for taking so long..

Hope to open the 4-car Blue Comet 72' Passenger cars later this week or by the

weekend. My 13 year old is in All-Stars and they are having one exciting series of

Tournaments and we have to do a lot of traveling.
"Joey" keeps begging to open them up.

The Team won again last night so we were home late last night

Tonight we have a double header. Very tough team!

We will open the Blue Comets sometime Saturday and then I will post comments.

I also found a Williams Blue Hudson New Jersey O-Gauge!!!!!!!!!

Hobby Shop said they would put it on Lay-Away if I want.

Is this the one to pull the Blue Comet Madison's!!

That blue is really sharp!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

r0gruth

The blue Hudson should be just fine.It is a large loco and will look,IMHO,great with those cars.

Finally started to open the 72' Blue Comet Madison Cars.

On initial looks  WOW!!  Williams did an awesome job.

We are still in Baseball playoff's and I will be out of town a few days for Semi-finals.

Then I can give more details. If you come across these passenger cars

GRAB THEM !!! The colours, the detail very very nice!!!!!

Does anyone know when Williams came out with these sets??
