How would one go about securing g scale track to a surface like plywood

You didn't specify what brand of track, but I know that LGB & Aristo track have holes for small nails or screws (I use the latter to secure track to the plastic decking I use for roadbed on my garden RR).  Or you could use "Plastic Nails", silicone rubber or similar adhesive for less noise transmission from the track to the plywood.  Wink.     Tom
