Has Bachmann given any consideration to doing a Norfolk Southern Heritage diesel run? The other two major companies have started working on castings of models for production of these, at least that is some chatter on OGR forum.

The SD-70ACe is the one I would like to see done.

Might it be too expensive for Bachmann? I would like to know please.

Yes,Lionel and MTH are making these locos.
But consider, how many are there?20 or 21 in two different loco models?
The above mentioned companies have them listed at over $500.00 each.
I don't know how much it costs for WBB to produce a loco but just think
of all the paint schemes. That may be part of the reason NS only made one
of each.
I see suggestions on this forum quite often for locos and road names that
folks would like to see offered.Maybe Bachmann could run an official survey
concerning these things.
We are all aware of the Lionel post war mystique.Have you ever noticed the
small number of road names that were used and that they still sold well?
Many of the steam locos along with a goodly amount of rolling stock was
named Lionel Lines.

Lionel is not doing certain NS heritage diesels.

Bachmann in H.O. is supposed to issue the heritage diesels for NS.

To make all the requested engines, especially for smaller railroads, will take a very large budget. If the units don't sell that well then Bachmann or any other company is stuck with un-recoverable production costs, and can lead to a company filing for bankruptcy.
