Do not say, too hard to learn how to use. If you can learn to use a computer and the Internet, you can learn ho to use a multimeter.
These meters are around $5.00 each at Harbor Freight and ebay. It would not surprise me that one company in China makes them all.
If you need to read AC current, you can buy the little more expensive meter. About $20.00 at Harbor Freight.

I wanted to bring this back up as it has helped me just recently find a faulty connection on a rail joiner which was 18 inches away from where the loco was hesitating. Using the track test (which I never thought of doing) found it quicker than my old way (you don't want to know).
I have downloaded it and printed it for future fast reference.
